Siquijor wurde von den Spaniern wegen des seltsamen Glühens der Glühwürmchen einst “Insel des Feuers” genannt.
Es ist derzeit noch berühmt für seine Verbindung mit Magie und Zauberei aufgrund traditioneller Praktiken, die vor dem 15. Jahrhundert angewendet wurden.
Den Bewohnern wird ein hohes Maß an Respekt für die natürliche Umwelt nachgesagt. Leider war der Strand, den ich am frühen Morgen erkundet hatte, mit Plastikmüll gefüllt.

Siquijor was once called the “Island of Fire” by the Spaniards because of the strange glow from the fireflies.
It is currently still famous for its association with magic and sorcery due to traditional practices that were used before the 15th century.
The residents are said to have a high level of respect for the natural environment. Unfortunately, the beach that I had explored early in the morning was filled with plastic waste.
I hope they cleaned up and kept Siquijor nice.
